Epic Private Journeys

A luxury guided-tour operator, given a website as considered as their itineraries.

The challenge.

We designed Epic Private Journeys’ previous website eight years earlier. It served them well, but time had caught up with it. The design had aged and no longer reflected the high-end quality of their guided tours, so the brief was clear: a fresh design worthy of the experiences they create.

The bigger task sat under the surface. Epic had built up a large library of content over those years, along with an established search presence, and both had to survive the move. We planned the migration carefully so every page came across cleanly and that hard-won search presence was protected.

What we designed and built.

We started from the brand, not a template. The new site uses high-end visual design that finally reflects the luxury of Epic’s guided tours, with generous imagery and calm, confident typography. Beneath that, we carefully migrated a large content library built up over years, mapping every page so nothing was lost and the search presence Epic had earned was preserved at launch. Every page was custom designed and built on WordPress, so the team can manage their itineraries and enquiries without touching a line of code.

OptimisedGoogle PageSpeed score on desktop and mobile, optimised for speed, at launch. Most sites score 50-65 according to Google.
02AuditedWe run the website through a detailed SEMrush site health audit at launch, so the pages were clean of technical SEO issues.
03ResponsiveWe designed the website as a mobile-first user experience, to look sharp on every screen.
04BespokeWe created a fully custom WordPress build, never an off-the-shelf theme.

What we delivered.

A complete redesign and rebuild, a careful content migration, plus the technical groundwork to launch it properly and keep it healthy.

The result.

Epic Private Journeys now has a website that matches the quality of the journeys they create. The design reads as genuinely high-end, the experience is fast and considered on every device, and a brand that had outgrown its old site is once again positioned where it belongs, all on a custom WordPress build the team can manage with ease.

Key takeaways for tourism operators.

Epic Private Journeys had a real asset in their existing content and search presence, and the win here was protecting it while giving the brand a design that finally reflects the calibre of their tours. The visual quality of the site now sets the right expectation before a single word is read.

The same thinking applies to any tourism operator. When you sell an experience, your website is part of that experience, and it has to look the part the moment someone lands on it. Just as important, a redesign should never cost you the years of content and search presence you have already built, so the move needs to be planned, not rushed.

If you run a tourism business and your current site no longer does your experiences justice, this is exactly the kind of work we enjoy. We design and build websites that position your brand the way it deserves, and we migrate carefully so you keep everything you have worked for.
